Tog Information
Here at Baby Sleeping Bags we’ve tried to make the site a useful resource. One of the main considerations when shopping for a Baby Sleeping Bag is to considering the Tog Rating. This is the measurement of Thermal temperature of the fabric. The higher the number the more warm the fabric will be. It is very important to consider this and your babies temperature. So here is a guideline for the different Tog Ratings for Baby Sleeping Bags:
0.5 Tog baby sleeping bags – For very hot nurseries, hot summer months and summery holidays.
1.0 Tog baby sleeping bags – For warm nurseries and summer months
2.5 Tog baby sleeping bags – For all year round except for when the weather is warm or the child’s room is warm
It is also important to note what to wear with the sleeping bag so that your baby does not get over hot or too cold. Here is some guidelines for what you baby should wear based on the temperature:
24 degrees C in Nursery – short sleeved body suit and 0.5 Tog Sleeping Bag
22-24 degrees C in Nursery – short sleeved body suit and 1.0 Tog Sleeping Bag
18-21 degrees C in Nursery – long sleeved body suit and pyjama top plus 1.0 Tog Sleeping Bag or long sleeved body suit with 2.5 Tog without the pyjama top

Please use the above as a Guideline only and always monitor the temperature of your child to make sure they are not too hot. Don’t use extra sheets or blankets as your baby could get overheated.
